Olive Branch Event Center History
The genesis of Olive Branch Event Center sprouted from a heartfelt observation by the Cody family, recognizing the crucial need for families served through Companion Funeral Home to find solace in meaningful gatherings following the loss of a loved one. Frequently, families inquired about post-funeral meal options or a suitable venue. In 2021, spurred by compassion, the Cody's embarked on a quest to fulfill this need, eventually selecting our current location on Interstate Drive in Cleveland.
Throughout the arduous renovation journey, one of our founders, Shelli Cody, discovered an unwavering passion for this endeavor. She envisioned this space not merely as a venue but as a sanctuary for solace and commemoration, where families and friends could find comfort amidst grief and celebrate cherished lives. The essence of her inspiration lies in the name itself, “The Olive Branch,” with its symbolic resonance deeply rooted in a poignant scripture, adorning the entryway of our facility with beauty and meaning.
In honor of Shelli’s passion for cooking and fostering connections over a shared meal, Olive Branch Event Center will offer a curated selection of catering options, meticulously crafted to elevate gatherings into unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s a comforting spread of homestyle favorites or an elegant array of culinary delights, our offerings reflect Shelli’s dedication to creating moments of joy and camaraderie around the table.
Tragically, Shelli’s journey was cut short in December of 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer. Yet, her indomitable spirit and enduring legacy continue to permeate every corner of this venue, serving as a beacon of hope and healing for our community.
Expanding beyond its original purpose, Olive Branch Event Center aspires to become more than just a haven for bereaved families; it aims to be a cornerstone of community connection and celebration. Beyond hosting memorial services, the venue welcomes a diverse range of events, from corporate gatherings to joyful celebrations of any kind.
